I’m taking too long again I suppose
The music keeps telling me to hurry up
Flag polls and fireworks flash on the TV screen
P.B. and J. is my manna sent from heaven, or upstairs from mom
A purple stain on the carpet that I sheepishly thought would go unnoticed
So naïve, yet I suppose that’s what made those days so carefree
I AM the red Ninja Turtle
I AM the red Ranger
I AM jumping on my bed with my next door neighbor buddy
Nerf guns bully even the most precautious older siblings
I suppose there is no use crying over spilt eggnog either
Clumsiness comes with the territory
I never suspected what happened next
They made me scared of it yet unaware of it
Please don’t say I’m too old
Please don’t tell me I’m too big for that
I wanted this to last longer
Just 5 more minuets
Gone

Me and my friend Lacy (a.k.a on DA LacyLeah) were talking about childhood and this just popped up. Thats actually how most of my work comes. A lot of the time when those things pop up, I'm too lazy to get on the computer and I'm usually WAY too lazy to write it by hand, so I bet I would be a very accomplished poet if I used all of my ideas, but then again most of them probably wouldnt be good for poetry which is why I didn't write them in the first place! Phew...take that run on sentence English teachers of the world! Oh and bonus points for those of you who caught the refrence to Super Mario Bros. Well..............enjoy!

don't you think it's weird that when we're kids we're so hell-bent on growing up and being older, but then when we pass childhood all we want to do is go back? ahh the joys of innocence and being carefree... anyway, enough of my ranting - another fantastic, splendid piece eric!
